About Championship (England)
The Championship is the second tier of English football, directly below the Premier League. Under the regulations of the English Football League it consists of twenty-four clubs, as does League One below it. At the end of each season the top two are promoted to the Premier League, the next six enter a play-off whose winner goes up as well, and the three clubs finishing lowest are relegated to League One. A matchday is labelled with a single number in the form Regular Season - N. A league newly added stays silent until enough current-season matches have been settled for the models to price from; that silence is designed, not an outage. When picks do appear, each one is frozen before kickoff at decimal odds and graded against the final result.
